Ben’s journey into editing began with a chance encounter with an Avid system in his college media department. Armed with limited qualifications but plenty of ambition, he found himself unexpectedly out of work after being let go as a window cleaner. Undeterred, Ben spent much of the winter of 2005 knocking on doors in Soho, determined to find an opportunity that would allow him to break into the industry. His persistence paid off when he landed his first job running for Blue Post, and from there, he steadily climbed the ranks. Over the years, Ben has worked in a variety of post-production roles, from machine room assistant to editing assistant, eventually becoming an editor.

Ben’s portfolio spans a diverse range of projects, from commercials to features, including the Irish Academy Award-nominated short My Other Suit Is Human. He views every project as a learning opportunity, always striving to refine his craft and expand his skill set. With a clear, distinctive editing style, Ben focuses on enhancing the story and performance rather than overshadowing them with flashy techniques. His goal is to allow each project to breathe naturally, respecting the rhythm of both the narrative and the performances that drive it.
